When you are thinking about pool care, you want to make sure you are giving your best so you don’t end up with a green pool. In this article, we are going to go over pool care and how you can keep your pool from going to the green side.

Pool Care Consistency

One of the most important things you can do is make sure that you are consistent with your pool care. You won’t have to do as much work if you can keep your pool care consistent each day, week, month and year. What are some of the things you need to be doing consistently?

#1 – Skimming & Cleaning Filters

Make sure you keep your pool skimmed on a daily basis. While floating debris doesn’t seem like that big of a deal when you are looking at it floating on the surface but when the debris goes to the bottom of the pool, you are going to have a big problem on your hands. If you let it get too bad, you may even have to drain your pool which is a whole other problem on its own.

#2 – Brushing & Vacuuming for Pool Care

Depending on the type of pool you have, you may need to get a hard brush and brush the pool. A concrete pool is going to require a nice hard brush so you make sure you get all the potential algae off the side of the pool. If you have a vinyl or fiberglass pool, you need a softer brush. If you have a tile pool then you’re going to need to use a very soft brush so you do not scratch the tiles.

#3 – Check All Parts

When you are looking into pool care, you need to make sure all the parts are functioning correctly. If your pool is not checked on regularly, your parts may begin to break down and cause bigger problems throughout the pool. If you aren’t sure how to check your parts, you can always ask a professional to come out and take a look at your current situation. This is always a better thing to do than to allow things to sit around and get messed up.

If you test your pool water and find that you don’t fully understand what is going on, you can go to a local pool store and ask them to test the water for you. Most of the time, they are going to do this for you for free. Sometimes there are going to be salespeople that work to upsell you but you usually do not have to buy anything. Make sure you give us a call when you are ready to upgrade or update your pool.
